Mission
The IPE is a nationwide, non-profit-making, private Innovation and Technology aimed at increasing the technological and innovative capacity of companies and professionals from the Paper sector by providing them with consulting, training and information services. It comprises 49 manufacturers from the paper sector, as corporate members, as well as 60 companies related with the sector.

Founded in 1963 as the Research Association of the Spanish Paper Industry, it has been highly active throughout its nearly 40-year-long history.

In the year 2000, a Strategic Plan was put into action to define the IPE's line of business over the next few years in order to adapt it to the current Spanish paper sector and its evolving technical needs. This Plan structures its goals in five basic areas: Technical Assistance to ASPAPEL (Spanish National Association of Pulp, Paper and Board Makers), Training Programs, Technical Forums, Project Management, and Documentary Publications.
